The CAPMT District 3 Piano Auditions and Ensemble Auditions were held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at California State University, Dominguez Hills.   Good luck  to the 7 students listed below from Wenjen Piano Studios that received the top rating and are invited to perform in gate CAPMT Southern Festival on  February 11, 2017 (SAT) at Los Angeles Harbor College in Wilmington , CA  .
The students should arrive 15-30 min. prior to their scheduled event time and check in at the registration desk.  All of the recitals are about 45 min. - 1 hr. in length.  To encourage development of musicianship, the students must stay for the entire duration of their scheduled time.  We look forward to hearing the students make beautiful music!

Teacher's Notes

Happy Chinese New Year 2017-The Year of the Rooster!

The Year of the Rooster will be a powerful one, with no middle of the road when it comes to moving forward. This year, impressions count. You'll want to look your best and be clear on your intentions concerning love, money, and business. Stick to practical and well-proven paths to ensure success, rather than risky ventures.

This includes music as well!  Take the well-proven path of consistent practice, and make your best impression with every performance this year.  Drive your own path and move forward by setting your goals, working hard, and making this your most successful year!

Last month I attended NAMM Show(National Association of Music Merchants)  and previewed Yamaha and Bosendorfer's premier pianos.

I look forward to attending the MTNA Music Teacher's National Association conference in Baltimore, MD in March, and the MTAC state conference at Fresno State University in July 2017.

In the spring, I will begin my term as President of the California Association of Professional Music Teachers www.capmt.org  and will serve on the AMT Editorial Committee for the Music Teachers National Association  www.mtna.org

Happy Chinese New Year and wishing everyone good health and musical growth!  Aim for the stars!
