A Message from the Wesley Prep COVID-19 Task Force:
COVID-19 Policies and Procedures Outline for
2020-2021 School Year
Dear Wesley Prep Families,

As mentioned in some of my prior Panther Page letters this summer, we are sharing with you Wesley Prep's COVID-19 Policies and Procedures Outline for the 2020-2021 School Year. In light of yesterday's announcement from Dallas County, Wesley Prep will continue to monitor the health situation and re-adjust our re-opening plans accordingly. Our top priority remains the health, safety, and well-being of our Students, Faculty, and Staff on and off campus. According to last night’s order, Judge Clay Jenkins is mandating all face-to-face learning and activities for the coming school year be delayed until September 8.

As of today's date, Wesley Prep's re-opening plans are as follows:

ELEMENTARY :
As always, the Elementary School Calendar begins in August. Starting on August 19, 20, and 21, we will begin to introduce:
  • the eLearning platforms,
  • ask you to familiarize yourself with the platform that your student will use,
  • offer an optional in person or virtual opportunity to meet the teacher in her classroom,
  • schedule a “see the teacher” parade while learning the procedures for your specific carpool route, and
  • pick up individual supplies.

On Monday, August 24 eLearning academic content will begin. As soon as we are allowed to return to face-to-face learning, Elementary Students will return to Wesley Prep. According to Judge Jenkin's most recent order, this date is September 8.  A more detailed communication/video outlining the plans and options for Elementary eLearning will be sent next week.

MOTHER'S DAY OUT (MDO)
Since our MDO program is licensed as a daycare facility, this program is not required to follow Judge Jenkin's order. Therefore, MDO will start face-to-face care on September 2, 3, or 4 (depending on the program your child is enrolled in for the school year). A more detailed communication outlining drop-off/pick-up procedures will be sent before the start of school. You will also have an opportunity to sign up to meet the teacher(s) and see your child's classroom.

PRESCHOOL :
To minimize the number of young children entering the building at the beginning of school, we will stagger the start dates and begin face-to-face learning for Preschool on September 8 or 9 (depending on the program your child is enrolled in for the school year). A more detailed communication outlining drop-off/pick-up procedures will be sent before the start of school. You will also have an opportunity to sign up to meet the teacher and see your child's classroom.

ALL FAMILIES:

We wish you a wonderful rest of July and August and we are looking forward to getting back with Elementary Students virtually until we can gather in person on campus when the restriction is lifted. And in September with our MDO and Preschool Panthers! Spread JOY, not germs!

With faith, hope and love,

Linda
