Fire Department Yearly BBQ for Seniors
On Sep 1st, the West Bridgewater Fire Department continued its yearly tradition of barbecuing for the senior citizens at the Council on Aging (COA). This year the WBFD also took the opportunity to educate the audience on the importance of lithium-ion battery safety at home.
The WBFD serves and protects us in times of need, but they also take every day as an opportunity to assist and educate the community in practicing fire safety. While generously giving back to the seniors at the COA, they performed a demonstration outlining the importance and procedure(s) of smoke detector installation, smoke detector checks, and lithium-ion battery use. By educating people on proper use and disposal of lithium-ion batteries, the WBFD is able to prevent danger before it happens and protect the community.

The first settlers had a house lot of six acres each on the town river, and the place was called Nuckatest, or Nuncketetest. The first lots were taken up at West Bridgewater; first houses built and the first improvements made there."

Changes
“It’s only after you’ve stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow, and transform.” ~Roy T. Bennett
“Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.” ~ Rumi
“The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself.” ~ C. JoyBell C.
Love can change a person the way a parent can change a baby- awkwardly, and often with a great deal of mess.”~ Lemony Snicket
“And that is how change happens. One gesture. One person. One moment at a time.”~ Libba Bray
