Gingersnap Visit

Meet Gingersnap, a rescue that was available for adoption through the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern Massachusetts in Brockton.

WB Police posted: "Gingersnap stopped by the West Bridgewater police station a few days ago to visit with our officers. She is an incredibly friendly, sweet, and fun young pup! Our officers were happy to spend some time with her and show her around the station. We felt her bandana needed some improvement and she was happy to model the new one for us."

Historical Tidbit:

School District No. 3

"In winter, this school was taught by Miss Emilie B. Reed, of West Bridgewater, who is so well-known as an instructress, that nothing need be said of her, except that she maintained her former reputation. She infused some life into the school; still there appeared, in a less degree, the want of energy noticed in the summer."

Climate Can Do - Pack a Sustainable Lunch!

Looking for an easy way to make your lunch a little more sustainable? You may already have everything you need! Take a look in your refrigerator, freezer, or pantry.

Last night's leftovers can become today's lunch and a reusable container or water bottle can replace a disposable one. Get creative and give yesterday's dinner a lunchtime makeover by adding leftover vegetables to today's wrap or salad, or combining leftover chicken, rice, and vegetables to create a filling bowl. Using what you already have can help reduce food waste, save money, and make lunch a little more fun. For more ideas on preventing food waste at home, visit the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

You've Got To Vote

MA INFORMATION FOR VOTERS

2026 Ballot Questions

Tuesday, November 3, 2026

Dear Voter:

On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, you will have the opportunity to make your voice heard. If you prefer to vote sooner, you can vote early or by mail. Early voting will be held October 17-30. On Election Day, all polling places will be open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

If you are not registered to vote, or you have moved since the last election, visit www.VoteInMA.com to register, check your registration information, and update your address. You must be registered to vote by Saturday, October 24, in order to participate in this election.

This year, there will be nine binding statewide ballot questions, the most that Massachusetts voters have ever been asked to consider. This official 2026 Information for Voters book contains information on all nine questions, including a summary of each proposal, the full text of the proposed/existing law, statements describing the effect of a yes or no vote, and brief arguments for and against each question.

The information in this book will assist you in making a thoughtful decision before you vote. With a longer ballot than usual, you may want to take notes and bring this book with you when you go to the polls.

The choices you make in this election will shape the course of government for our state, as well as local communities. I urge you to participate in this process, because your vote matters.

Very truly yours,

William Francis Galvin

Secretary of the Commonwealth

A Life That Cares: Linda DaSilva

On Wednesday, September 16, 2026 Life Care Center of West Bridgewater CNA Linda DaSilva was recognized as the "Whatever It Takes Champion". Praised for her warm smile and helping hands, DaSilva's commitment is what sets her apart.

In a social media post the Life Care Center wrote, "Her dedication and compassion make a meaningful difference for our residents and team each day."

Much more than a certificate, this award showcases the true meaning behind life care, and the continuous selfless and courageous acts of those who care for our community.

Congratulations to Linda DaSilva and each of the hardworking healthcare workers who make the world a better place each and every day.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

~ Martin Luther King Jr.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

~ Jimi Hendrix

“When I say it's you I like, I'm talking about that part of you that knows that life is far more than anything you can ever see or hear or touch. That deep part of you that allows you to stand for those things without which humankind cannot survive. Love that conquers hate, peace that rises triumphant over war, and justice that proves more powerful than greed.” ~ Fred Rogers

“Peace is more than the absence of war. Peace is accord. Harmony.” ~ Laini Taylor

Peace, dear friends, is a worthy thing to work for. It is not lack of conflict, it is engaging in inner and outer work that will build bridges between our differences.

Join me, and work for peace. ~ Jacquie
