Join us for WCCA's monthly general meeting this Wednesday, June 20th, 7:30am, at 40W Gallery (1560 Teller Street). This month we have two special presenters: Vice President Tim Costello from Terumo BCT will provide an overview of the company, Lakewood's largest private employer; and Edgewater Collective's Executive Director Joel Newton will share an update on his organization's mission and the upcoming improvements planned for Molholm Elementary. 
 
Members and friends are encouraged to attend the WCCA meeting to network and  hear the latest news from elected officials, corridor representatives, neighbors, and business owners. Enjoy f ree coffee and breakfast items. Meetings start promptly at 7:30am and wrap up by 9am. 

WCCA meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1560 Teller St., Lakewood 80214. After our June 20 gathering, the next meeting will be on July 18th.

40 West ArtLine Launch a Dinosaur-Sized Success!

The 40 West ArtLine was launched with a block party that drew more than 3,000 people to the district in conjunction with a First Friday art walk on June 1st.  This four-mile walking and biking art route in the heart of 40 West Arts District features ground murals, fence art, interactive sound sculptures, and large-scale park art installations. This free outdoor art experience let's you #exploreartoutside! 40 West Arts extends a HUGE thank you to its partners: the National Endowment of the Arts, City of Lakewood, ArtLine Champions, art selection committee, local neighborhood associations, WCCA, the Lakewood-W. West Colfax & 40 West Arts Honored with National Leadership Award

Congratulations to the West Colfax Corridor and 40 West Arts District!  Americans for the Arts, a national nonprofit with a 55-year legacy of advocating for the arts awarded 40 West Arts and Board Chair Bill Marino the Michael Newton Award for Leadership. This award recognizes the achievements of individuals and organizations committed to enriching their communities through the arts. The awards was presented at the organization's national convention on June 16. This award showcases the cohesiveness of our community. It' s a tribute to all who have worked to champion the renaissance of West Colfax and the impact of 40 West Arts, including our volunteers, community partners and team members. Read more here .

40 West Farmers Market Returns on this Summer on June 23!
 
Summer is here and that means fresh, local fruits and veggies! Now entering its third year in the West Colfax corridor, 40 West Farmers Market will kick off the season on Saturday, June 23rd between 9am-2pm.  
Head to the same location as last year,  Lamar Station Plaza  (6501 W. Colfax Ave.-- home to Casa Bonita), on every  Saturday through October for this awesome amenity along West Colfax. Shop for food, local artisan and other cool vendors, listen to live music, eat at a food truck, and visit with friends while you're there. Want more information? Help The Action Center Serve Our Community

The Action Center is a Lakewood-based organization with a mission to provide an immediate response to basic human needs and promote pathways to self-sufficiency for Jefferson County residents and homeless.  They can always use the support of the community to achieve these goals. Keep them in mind when buying school supplies, food, and other items that serve basic needs. The Action Center provides hope and builds dignity while breaking the cycle of poverty. "BIG" Local Entertainment to Appear at 2018 West Colfax Mural Festival

The 4th Annual West Colfax MuralFest returns to Lamar Station Plaza this year on August 11th. We are excited to welcome the up-and-coming band Pandas & People to headline the festival alongside other great entertainment. Learn more about each of the entertainers on the website. our community by recognizing ongoing contributions in community engagement,

Golden Music Hosts $5 Ukulele Class on June 23rd 

Want to channel your inner musician but don't know how? Stop by Golden Music on June 23rd for a $5 class on playing the ukulele. Drop in at noon for a one hour session with teacher Jim Venis. Two Creeks Neighborhood Fruit on Sale

It's that time again! Time for delicious fruit from the Western Slope! This year the Two Creeks Neighborhood Organization is providing cherries, peaches and pears for sale. Prices will remain the same as last year with cherries at $65 per 20 lb. box, peaches at $37 per 20 lb. box and pears at $25 per 20 lb. box. You can choose to purchase these by the case (20 lbs.)  or ½ case. If you would like to purchase more of this delicious fruitthis year, please fill out this form completely and mail it to the address listed. This is the only Two Creeks neighborhood fundraiser of the year. Support TCNO!


Craft & Craft Returns for Second Series of Beer and Creative Projects for Adults

40 West Arts District launched a creative program last summer called "Craft & Craft" where guests could enjoy craft beer while learning a new creative skill and having fun with during a class conducted by a local artist. The first class will be held on July 25th at WestFax Brewing where local artist Sean Doherty will teach participants how to make a birdhouse out of recycled materials. Space is limited. Tickets are only $25 and include beer, materials, instruction, snacks, a brewing tour, and discount on additional beer! RSVP and get tickets here. 

Reed Art & Imaging True Art West Fest is Approaching on August 4th

Reed Art & Imaging, a West Colfax business and major supporter of the arts district, is hosting its first-ever street festival at its West Colfax location! All proceeds will be benefit 40 West Arts District. Contact Reed Art & Imaging to inquire about potential last- minute booth space.  The festival will take place in Reed Art & Imaging parking lot (8000 W. WestFax Brewing Displays Local Artist in the Taproom and on Crowler Cans

Have you stopped in the neighborhood brewery for a "crowler" recently? You may have noticed the stunning work by local artist Noelle Phares on the walls and the can designs. WestFax Brewing is excited to partner with the local arts district to continue spreading creativity. Mark your calendars to attend the next free comedy show on June 30th. Lakewood Plans BIG BOOM BASH for 4th of July!

Lakewood's Big Boom Bash, a new Fourth of July celebration hosted by the City of Lakewood, will take place on Wednesday, July 4, rain or shine, at Jeffco Stadium, 500 Kipling St. Admission is free for this event, which kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and culminates with a spectacular 20-minute fireworks display, beginning at approximately 9:15 p.m. The event includes art projects, vendors, and food trucks. The Lakewood Beer Garden will feature beer from Lakewood-based breweries and will also offer hard cider for purchase.  More details here.
