Historic Stonewall Motel Sign Saved Thanks to FirstBank

Thanks to the community spirit of FirstBank, the West Colfax community was able to preserve an artifact of a bygone era by relocating the classic mid-century Stonewall Motel neon sign.

The sign, a staple of the 50s "Americana" neon-vibe that is at the heart of West Colfax's heritage and vibrant spirit, was rescued through a partnership involving FirstBank, the West Colfax Community Association, the Lakewood-W. Colfax BID, 40 West Arts District, and City of Lakewood Staff. By working together, the sign was removed and relocated. It's currently available for viewing in Pasternack's Art Hub backyard (6851 W. Colfax), and will undergo restoration as soon as funds are available for the project. A big thank-you to FirstBank who covered the cost of the removal and relocation and to Jonny Barber and Scott Pasternack for their help and support.
