This year, I was sworn in to serve as your new State Senator for the 19th District. I want to thank my predecessor Senator Andy Dinniman for his years of service and dedication to Chester County. Previously, I served as State Representative for the 156th Legislative District, as Mayor of West Chester, and on West Chester Borough Council.

Public service is a sacred responsibility, especially in a time of crisis. While my offices are continuing to work remotely during this pandemic, I still encourage you to reach out via phone or email with any questions, comments, or concerns. My staff is
working hard to address unemployment compensation issues, PennDOT concerns, navigating resources in our area, questions about COVID-19 testing and vaccination, and much more.

Please know that my office is here to assist you with any state-related questions or concerns. I encourage you to follow me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and my website for all the latest updates in the district. It’s an honor to serve as your voice in Harrisburg.

TOWNSHIP ARCHIVES
Railroads in West Pikeland
Did you know a railway ran through our township? The Pickering Valley Branch of the Reading Railroad Company was laid in 1871 to run from Phoenixville to Byers Station. Along this route were milk collecting stops, including Pikeland Station near the present Hallman's General store. In addition to the large creamery at Byers, Opperman's Corner was another creamery serviced by the railway.
The railway had trains running four times times a day in each direction, with extensive passenger traffic.
