The Chester County Health Department continues to watch data closely regarding COVID-19 and continues to consider additional mitigation measures that may be needed. For the latest information visit the Chester County Health Department COVID-19 information page. 
COVID PROCEDURES IN OUR OFFICE
Social distancing and COVID guidelines remain in place in all Township buildings. All visitors are asked to wear masks and maintain 6’ distance if waiting in the lobby. Please ring the bell when you enter the front desk area to alert staff of your presence. We still strongly encourage anyone having business with the Township to continue to do so by phone or email and limit in-person contact as much as possible.

Large gatherings are still limited in number so all Township meetings will continue to be held virtually via Zoom until further notice. Additionally, the meeting rooms are not open to the public.

WHAT'S HAPPENING
Horseshoe Trail Road

While some work still needs to be done - wetland plantings and minor touch ups to the guide rails, West Pikeland Township is pleased to announce that Horseshoe Trail Road opened to traffic at 11:30am on December 23, 2020. We look forward to many years of safe (and dry) travels on this road.
Lionville Fire Tower Truck

Lionville Fire Company welcomes its new 2020 Pierce Arrow XT Heavy Duty 100' Tower. With the help of West Pikeland Township's contributions through the years and our most recent donation, Lionville Fire Company was able to purchase this innovative apparatus to best serve the residents of our municipality.
TOWNSHIP ARCHIVES
History of the Mt. Vernon School
Mt. Vernon Schoolhouse is one of four 19th century schoolhouses in the township. Located on Street Road, it was built in 1851. Most public schools in Chester County date from the Pennsylvania Free School Act of 1834, requiring free public education for all the state's children. The Mt. Vernon School closed in 1923.
