West Pikeland Township Welcomes Officer McBride

West Pikeland Township Police Officer Matthew McBride was sworn in by the Board of Supervisors Chair, Noreen Vigilante, at the Board of Supervisors meeting on February 21, 2023. West Pikeland Supervisors and Staff Conduct Road Tour

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, West Pikeland Township Supervisors and staff conducted their annual township road tour to evaluate the condition of roads throughout the township as a part of the road maintenance program. The recommended repairs will be reviewed by the township engineer and then a public notice will be published soliciting bids for the necessary improvements.

Marching into Spring

Get out your calendars because there are lots of great programs planned for this month at Chester Springs Library! Starting off on Thursday, March 2, it’s Read Across America Day! Kids are welcome to stop in from 1-4 to read, craft, and snack in their own make-shift reading nook. Then on Saturday, March 4, the seed library is officially open! Come by and borrow seeds for your Spring garden. Seed donations are always welcome.

A representative from Kristine Howard’s office will be here on Tuesday, March 7 from 10-1 to answer any Pennsylvania State-related questions and to assist seniors (65+) with renewing or signing up for their free Septa key card. On Wednesday, March 8, there’s a Medicare 101 Zoom Program at 6pm. There will be an overview of Medicare and then a question and answer session at the end. Sign up here.

School-age students can sign up here for a Science of Evergreen Trees Program on Friday, March 10. Learn about the different types of evergreen trees with members of the Uwchlan Garden Club and make an evergreen-inspired centerpiece craft. Then, drop in anytime during the week of March 14 to make a St. Patrick’s Day card for a lucky someone! Also, don’t miss Makin’ Music with Mr. Dan on Thursday, March 23 at 10:30am.

This month’s book club will be on Friday, March 24 at 2pm, and we’ll be reading Clock Dance by Anne Tyler. Pick up a copy at the library. Can’t make it in person? Inquire about the library’s virtual options. Adults can register here to attend a Collagraph Workshop on Tuesday, March 28 at 10:30am. You’ll learn how to make your own stamps and create a unique design!

This month, we’re the happy recipients of Kimberton Whole Foods’ Rounding Up at the Register program! If you’ve never been but have always wanted to check it out, now’s the time! When you shop at the Kimberton location during the month of March and round up your total, Kimberton Whole Foods will match every penny and donate to the library. We are always ready to welcome new volunteers to assist our programs in  varied ways (archival collection, marketing, tour guides, greeters, landscapers, site maintenance, etc.)

The Mill at Anselma has been chosen to participate in the Presidential Service Award for community volunteers.

Historic Yellow Springs is excited to offer four Kids Summer camps, and two Tween/Teen Summer Camps this year. The Kids Summer Camps each have a weekly theme with sessions in fine art and clay each day. The Tween/Teen Summer Camps meet in the historic Chester Springs Studio where they explore and learn how to develop a painting from drawing to canvas.
