Small Business Spotlights & News

Check out these great new businesses in the West Roxbury Main Street district!
Pretty Moon Mercantile
NEW: A new and exciting business to join the West Roxbury Main Street district is Pretty Moon Mercantile, located at 111 Park Street.

Pretty Moon is a retail shop specializing in kitchen, home, office, gifts, and assorted goods.

They also have a beautiful events barn for rent.
Pretty Moon Mercantile's barn serves as a gathering space, available for private rentals. With white washed walls, modern chandeliers, and an outdoor patio space, you can enjoy their space to suit a number of occasions. Inquire at prettymoon02132@gmail.com and visit their website or Instagram profile to learn more.
Park Place Medical Aesthetics Studio
NEW: Right next door to Pretty Moon is Park Place Medical Aesthetics Studio, another new and family-owned business diversifying the business mix in West Roxbury's Main Street district.

Tara and Michaela are part of the same Malone family; Tara’s sister is Michaela’s Mom, hence Tara was an easy choice as God Mother. To say that the two of them are ‘close’ would be an understatement. When Tara was getting her LMA, Michaela was getting her RN degree. Frequently,Tara would have Michaela be her model. Once they both had become fully licensed and started their careers, Tara convinced Michaela to receive her injectables licenses. They both have been separately practicing these past bunch of years, and Tara decided it was time to have a practice of their own, again convincing Michaela to get on board. The space on Park Street became available, with a mission to encourage women entrepreneurs, and the stars aligned.

"We could not be more excited to be opening this space together and are so inspired by all the men and women who have been walking through our doors."

Their process is environmentally-friendly from start to finish. This includes supporting hybrid trucks, sourcing materials from green suppliers, using low VFC paints and recycling construction waste. West Roxbury Businesses Going Green
Check out the new blog post and video on WRMS.org/westie-stories.

Earlier this year, West Roxbury Main Streets partnered with Mothers Out Front West Roxbury chapter to take part in an innovative, cross-collegiate program through Colleges of the Fenway, focused on addressing local sustainability challenges.

The program, organized through the COF’s Center for Sustainability and the Environment, formed a student project team tasked with capturing insights from local business owners that were successfully embedding environmental sustainability into their businesses.

Learn about the insights from that project and watch our new video interview with business owners from Ashmont CleanersDelini Gelato, and Waves Car Wash.
