Safety Tip: Falling Objects Can be Deadly
Objects that fall from heights include tools, equipment, materials, and debris. Workers can be injured or killed by a falling or dropped object.

Prevention is key:
  • Install protections on the roof to keep objects from falling
  • Tether tools with proper lanyards when performing overhead work
  • Complete all needed training for the job
  • Inspect your worksite for new dangers each day as conditions may change
  • Wear personal protective equipment
Add a Challenge, "Preventing Falling Objects"

Review this ToolBox Talk for your weekly Safety Meetings. This is a topic for all trades.

July’s job gains ‘shockingly’ strong as construction adds 32K positions
  • The construction industry added 32,000 jobs on net in July, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  • Overall, nonresidential construction employment increased by 18,300 jobs, with specialty trades gaining 10,300 positions.
  • For all industries, job gains were profoundly better than expected, as U.S. employers added 528,000 positions, more than twice the consensus forecast of 250,000, with the unemployment rate falling to 3.5%, which matches the lowest rate seen since the late 1960s, according to ABC.
Free Webinar - Utilizing Field IoT Data (Internet of Things)
Tuesday | 09/13/2022 | 2:00 PM EDT
The construction industry has been challenged with labor shortages, stagnant productivity, risk, and safety. Then comes a global pandemic. Technology has evolved to meet these challenges with a more connected jobsite. With an influx of tracking devices, reality capture solutions, and other on-site technologies, there are many ways to collect data on the jobsite. Learn how contractors and technology providers are partnering to leverage these tools to collect critical data points that serve as key indicators for project performance, health, and risk.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Describe how connected devices can be utilized to provide jobsite insights.
  • Identify applications of IoT and new digital technologies.
  • Discuss best practices for implementation and adoption of new technology.
