November Elections - Bond Elections on the ballots
West Texas AGC will highlight bond elections in our chapter territory in the coming weeks with an additional message. Each of us can prepare now, to be educated voters, on November 8th for ISSUES, CANDIDATES AND THE BOND PROPOSALS. If you do not vote, do not complain.
YOUR RIGHT | YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
The Fort Stockton ISD School Board unanimously voted at a special meeting on August 17 to hold a bond election on November 8.
  • Proposition A will have a value of $84 million and be used for school facilities. The proposition will include upgrades to the district-wide safety and security, renovations to all campuses, construction of a new intermediate classroom campus wing, and updates to the transportation fleet. There will be other facilities impacted by this proposition that was not named above.
  • Proposition B will have a value of $16 million and be used for school stadium facilities. The proposition will include a new turf, a new field house, renovating the 55-year-old field house, and upgrading the track. There are other parts of the stadium complex that will also be renovating with the money from the bond.

Marfa ISD Board of Trustees calls for bond election in November 2022
If the bond is approved, $57 million will be distributed out to some proposed projects for the district. Some of the proposed projects include a new k-12 campus, a career and technical education addition at the high school, and some new district-wide additions.

Abilene City Council orders a bond election November 8 for a new fire station
Council chose to move a bond vote for new recreation centers and a walking trail to the next city election in May. The fire station is an $8 million project and is one that requires immediate consideration, City Manager Robert Hanna told the council.
The council chose to move consideration of $32 million in other projects, including replacements for the G.V. Daniels and Cesar Chavez recreation centers, to a later date, citing a need for community education.
