Dear Pastor/Friends,
I am so grateful to the Lord, and to each of you, for the wonderful Vision Conference and District Assembly we had in Lubbock last month. It was a huge blessing to see and hear about the wonderful things that God is doing around our great district…and especially in your congregations! Special thanks to Pastor Gary Young and the Lubbock First Church staff and people for hosting us. Also, I want to shout out a big THANK YOU to our district staff and auxiliary leaders for all you did to make the assembly a big success!

You will be pleased to learn that over $3000 was raised on Thursday evening to buy 27 milk cows (and one bull) for our Nazarene pastors in Aweil, South Sudan. And I was pleased that another $3000 was pledged or given toward support of our district Nazarene Pastors’ Families’ Safety network counseling ministry!

Congratulations to our Dodson church on the election of their new pastor, Rev. Kevin Harris, and his wife, Felicia, who will be moving from their current assignment in Mount Pleasant, Texas, for their first Sunday in Dodson on June 18th. They are a great couple! Felicia is a special-education teacher and will be working in the Childress school district.

Congratulations, also, to Pastor Luke Lotara, who has accepted the advisory-board appointment as the new pastor of our Mid-Cities African congregation. Luke, and His wife, Vetty, have been faithful leaders in the congregation since its inception. Pastor Luke will be taking over for church planter Michael Gatkek, who will be planting another congregation in West Fort Worth.

I also want to congratulate Pastor Todd, and Anna, Derbyshire for an outstanding pastoral review, which I had the privilege of conducting for Todd at FW CrossPoint Church on March 19th. They have now served at CrossPoint for over ten years!

We are excited about our summer camping ministries at Camp Arrowhead. Please see the flyer below regarding Family Camp registration. Our speaker this year is one of our favorites, evangelist Mike Adams. The missionaries will be our own Jake and Mimi Page, and the worship leader will be Sean Patrick, who was the worship leader at the district assembly. It’s going to be a great Family Camp. Camping ministry dates for this summer are as follows:
CRAVE Youth Camp: June 19-23
Family Camp: June 25-30
ACTIVATE Kids Camp: July 17-21

Family Camp - June 25-30
Volunteers are needed for our Nursery, PreK and Elementary children's ministry services. Please contact Jennifer Sommers at [email protected] to recommend a teen (16 or older), young adult or adult from your congregation to come and serve at Family Camp. We offer meals for the week and sometimes even rooms for the entire week for those that serve in children's ministry. All volunteers will be MinistrySafe trained and background checked before Family Camp.

Send-a-Kid: Making it possible for every BAST kid to experience the joys of summer camp!
The BLAST children are planning on attending the West Texas District children’s camp for the first time! Blast is our After School Program and it stands for “Building Lives Around Sound Truth”. We are working on raising $3500 to take 12-15 kids to camp this year. Please join us by donating to the children’s camp project or sponsor a child for $245.

All donations are needed by May 18th. You can donate online by clicking here and earmarking your donation as "Children's Camp".
