POLICE NEWS

The Northern Chester County Youth Aid Panel is looking for volunteers!

The Youth Aid Panel Program is a police referral-based, short-term mentoring program for youth who have committed a first-time, non-violent, summary-level offense.

The Youth Aid Panel is made up of trained volunteers who work with local police departments on a platform of restorative justice which encompasses the impact that the offense had on the youth, the family, the victim, and the community, as a whole.

youth aid panel.jpg

The objective is to give the youth a “second chance” and help them realize that there are consequences to their actions, without going through the traditional court system.

To operate effectively, Youth Aid Panels require the assistance of many people, including community volunteers, local and county government officials, treatment specialists, and police personnel. Youth Aid Panels represent the creative efforts of many dedicated individuals.

If you would like to volunteer to be a part of the Northern Chester County Youth Aid Panel, please call Sgt. Austin Russell at 610-458-3205.
