POLICE NEWS

Since Pennsylvania changed the firework laws in 2018 loosening regulations, we have received many calls from our residents, especially those with pets and livestock, concerned for the safety of their animals.

Other firework-related calls to police were to voice concerns about the time of night fireworks were set off and the duration, sometimes lasting for hours.

Under the previous law there was very little the police department could do; however, that changed on July 11, 2022, when Governor Tom Wolf signed HB 2157 into law which will go into effect after 60 days. Read complete details in Police News.

Heroes and Horsepower Event to Honor First Responders

Uwchlan Ambulance Corps (UAC) will be honoring First Responders this year with the Heroes and Horsepower Event. This event will be held on August 27, 2022 at Ludwig's Corner Show Grounds to raise awareness and support of vital emergency services.

Full details of the event can be found on our website.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE and CLEAN ENERGY TRANSITION TEAM

Connecting Residents to Reliable Resources

Residents often ask how to practice the 3-R's--Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

The WVT Sustainability Committee and the Administration continually support our residents in preserving and protecting our environment by providing links to valuable, helpful resources and events.

Chester County Solid Waste Authority is an easily accessible resource for recycling, waste, and discarding household hazardous waste. Their "How Do I..." contains guidelines for discarding asbestos, bulk, electronic, medical, wood and vegetative waste, and leftover paint.

Need to get rid of your unused paint? “Disposing of Leftover Paint” contains information on the types of house paint (latex) that can be disposed of at the curb (after a solidification step) and which types (all others) can be brought to one of the frequent Household Hazardous Waste events.

The information sheet also provides suggestions on how to purchase the right amount paint by using a paint calculator and using any extra for touch-ups or as a donation to a community group or shelter for their use (examples of the first “R” – Reduce!!).

Refer to our Chester County Information section below for the next CCSWA Household Hazardous Waste Events to be held on August 27 and October 8. See you there!

West Vincent's EV Charging station can now be located on PlugShare!

Charging is currently free to West Vincent Township residents.

PlugShare is a sustainable energy data company founded in 2009, 100% focused on the electric vehicle (EV) category. Their mission is to help the EV community find their way.

Find EV charging stations with the PlugShare App.

PlugShare is a free EV driver's app for iOSAndroid, and web, allowing users to find charging stations, leave reviews, and connect with other plug-in vehicle owners. It has the most accurate and complete public charging map worldwide, with stations from every major network in North America, Europe, and throughout much of the globe.

PlugShare is also home to the largest community of EV drivers in the world. Every day, drivers add more station locations, constantly making the app more comprehensive, powerful and accurate. From within the app, users check-in when they charge, sharing tips, comments, and photos of their charging experiences.
