On Tuesday, May 16, 2023 Township offices will be open during normal business hours (8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.).

The Township Building is also a polling location for Precinct 690. Polls are open 7:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Township Road Paving to Begin mid-May


Notice -- Residents living on the following West Vincent Township roads/streets:


Adelphia Lane, Brian Way, Carriage Lane, Flowing Springs Road, Fox Run Road, Forest Glen Drive, Kimberbrae Drive, Hollow Road, Houndstooth Lane, Houndstooth Circle, Lily Pond Lane, Laymens Way, Malehorn Road, and Red Fox Lane.


Upcoming paving projects which will commence mid-May.



If your overgrown vegetation does not allow for the equipment to fit onto the roadway, it will be removed by the workers servicing the area prior beginning the work.

BUILDING & ZONING

Road Access/Driveway Ordinance - Recent Update

The Driveway Ordinance adopted in February 2022 requires a permit (reviewed by the Township Engineer) for substantial improvement to a driveway in the township. 


Substantial improvement is defined as “Improvements to a driveway that shall be deemed to be substantial”: 


  • Paving a driveway that has always been dirt or gravel,
  • Installing a drainage pipe underneath the driveway to carry water along the road gutter,
  • Grading or excavating within ten feet of the road right of way,
  • Changing the original grading or design of the driveway,
  • Any work that increases or otherwise affects stormwater flow or discharges within the cartway of any street.

Birchrunville is recognized as the heart of West Vincent Township’s historic 19th century agricultural landscape and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. 


The valley of Birch Run became known locally as “The Hollow” in the 18th century and was a center for mills serving surrounding farms. Nine mills are recorded along its banks in the 1870s, most of which had been operating 60-100 years by that time.  Read full article...

Litter Lifters of West Vincent - Saturday, May 20 - Route 100 Clean Up


Saturday, May 20, 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. (rain date Sunday, May 21) to clean up Route 100 between Blackhorse Road and Horseshoe Trail. 


The Litter Lifters of West Vincent adopted this section of Route 100 with PennDOT and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. 


Please arrive at 7:30 a.m., sharp. We welcome teens 15 and older. Park at Ludwigs Corner Fire Company.  Full details and volunteer information and instructions.

Chester County - Department of Facilities - Cooks Glen Bridge Repair


Chester County Bridge 195, Cooks Glen Road over French Creek, will be temporarily closed to traffic beginning on Monday, May 1, 2023.

The project is expected to take approximately four to six weeks to complete.


During this time, the bridge will be closed to all traffic.
