The success of the Kosmont Retail NOW! ® platform gives cities, counties and EDC's real time demographic, retail and development data inputs along with actionable implementation. We are now able to offer this platform in the Western U.S. and into the Midwest. Mr. Joseph Fackel joins our team to lead this effort in areas such as Illinois, Iowa, Texas, etc. Mr. Bob Tunis has joined our team as well and will lead Kosmont's pursuits in Arizona. Joseph Fackel

Senior Vice President

Mr. Joseph Fackel is a Senior Vice President with Kosmont Companies and has been a trusted advisor to public sector clients for nearly 20 years. With experience in leading client engagements within the Public Sector, Economic Development Organizations and Chambers of Commerce, Mr. Fackel has advised clients on issues related to Business Retention and Recruitment, Location Intelligence, Site Selection, Commercial Real Estate Development and Redevelopment and Consumer Analytics.

Prior to joining Kosmont, Mr. Fackel held executive positions with Buxton and Retail Strategies where he led hundreds of client engagements in more than 20 states.

Mr. Fackel is a Texas Real Estate Agent (License #630847) and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri and has also completed the Basic Economic Development Course at California State University Fresno. Mr. Fackel was recognized as one of Fort Worth’s 40 Under 40 in 2009.

Bob Tunis

Senior Advisor

Mr. Bob Tunis serves as Senior Advisor and Arizona Affiliate for Kosmont Companies. Mr. Tunis recently retired after seven years from the City of Scottsdale as the Economic Development Manager - Business Retention and Expansion. He was responsible for business expansion and retention with additional responsibility for workforce and research. A business retention project under his direction resulted in the Scottsdale Economic Department receiving a 2015 Gold Award from the International Economic Development Council.

He is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) and has over 20 years of economic development experience. His last position before Scottsdale was as Economic Development Director for the City of Sanford, Florida and Executive Director of the Sanford Community Redevelopment Agency. His international experience includes twelve years as a Canadian Foreign Service Officer with postings in Germany, Thailand, Trinidad and Jamaica. He also served eight years as Director (Europe) for the Alberta (Canada) Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism.

Mr. Tunis is a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) where he is also accredited as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD). His efforts were key in the Cit y of Scottsdale receiving a Gold Award in 2015 from the IEDC for the department’s innovative Business retention program.

Additionally, Mr. Tunis is a member of the Arizona Association for Economic Development (AAED) and he holds a Bachelor’s Degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
