WLG's REIGL VZ-400i 3D Terrestrial Laser Scanner

Terrestrial 3D LiDAR

Three Dimensional (3D) LiDAR is a remote sensing, optical perception technology that uses light in the form of pulsed laser to measure various ranges. The light pulses generate extremely accurate, 3D information about the earth and its surface characteristics. Differences in laser return times and wavelengths can then be used to make digital 3D images of the chosen target. LiDAR has both topographic (land) and bathymetric (water) operations and can be used in terrestrial, airborne such as aerial photogrammetry and UAS, and mobile applications.

LiDAR systems allow professionals to examine both the natural and man-made environments with accuracy, precision, and flexibility. Instruments used in the surveying industry generally consist of a laser, a scanner, and a specialist Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver. Software WLG uses in-house to optimize the acquired data in the field to office database workflow includes Riegl RiSCAN PRO and FARO SCENE. For the topographic operations survey instruments professionals utilize include a near infrared laser while bathymetric operations utilize a green light laser to measure floor/bed depths and elevations.

LiDAR technologies and the markets they serve are rapidly evolving and other machines using this unique LiDAR technology range from service robots to autonomous mobile robots and vehicles (AMRs / AVs) such as self-driving cars, which rely on increased connectivity and cloud infrastructure.

IBEC / D & D Engineering, Inc.

WLG is working in coordination with civil engineering and land development company D & D Engineering, Inc. (D & D) on the Inglewood Basketball and Entertainment Center (IBEC), a 28-acre, key LA Clippers-owned sports entertainment site located at the intersection of West Century Boulevard and South Prairie Avenue across from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. The project area will house an 18,000-seat arena, three parking garages, a practice facility, team offices, a sports medicine clinic, retail space, and a plaza.

The Clippers are constructing a new basketball arena along with a practice facility, team offices, a medical facility, retail stores, restaurants and parking in Inglewood.
