Clarapath, Medical Robotics Company, Raises $32M in Additional Funding
 
Hawthorne-based Clarapath, a robotics company aimed at catalyzing change in the way pathology laboratories process human and animal tissues, announced a follow-on financing, extending its Series B round with an additional $16 million in funding, following the previous close of $16 million in Series B funding. The round included The 4100 Group, East Post Road Ventures (Investment Arm of White Plains Hospital), Epiphron Capital, Northwell Ventures, P5 Health Ventures, and participation from other strategic organizations. This brings the total raised by Clarapath to more than $39 million. Clarapath is automating processes around the way tissue is processed onto glass slides via “sectioning,” or cutting a cross-section of the tissue specimen.

Regeneron Listed on Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for Third Consecutive Year


DJSI World is a global index comprised of the top 10 percent of most sustainable companies in each industry based on performance across environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria. It is published by S&P Dow Jones Indices, one of the world's leading index providers, together with RobecoSAM, which specializes in ESG data and benchmarking. Regeneron is one of only six companies in the biotechnology sector to be included on this year's DJSI World list, and was among 2,500 global companies eligible for inclusion.

Nutrition21 Acquired as Part of New Investment Platform

Harrison based top-shelf branded ingredient supplier Nutrition21 was acquired by a private equity firm intent on building an attractive ingredients holding company.

Everwell Health Holdings is a new consumer health and wellness functional ingredients platform. Its mission is to actively pursue partnerships and business development opportunities with additional functional ingredient companies, and will focus on amplifying investments in clinical studies, new product development, marketing and sales.

Nutrition21, led by president Joe Weiss, is a developer and marketer of high-value, clinically substantiated ingredients for use in dietary supplements, foods and beverages. Its ingredient portfolio includes the brands Nitrosigine, Velositol, Chromax, Lustriva, and nooLVL.
