This spring, the Westchester County Office of Economic Development hosted an exclusive tour of the County's life sciences cluster for members of New York City's economic development and life sciences community. The tour featured speakers from BioInc@NYMC, Burke Neurological Institute, Clarapath, Leviant, New York Medical College, Regeneron, Retia Medical, Sapience Therapeutics, Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator and Westchester Medical Center, and provided guests an opportunity to meet the groundbreakers and innovators who are driving Westchester’s life sciences sector forward.

New York Blood Center Enterprises Celebrate Official Groundbreaking for Rye Campus


The New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe) has officially broken ground on its new, state-of-the-art campus located at 601 Midland Avenue in Rye. Formerly the Avon campus, the 187,000 square foot facility will be home to NYBCe's tri-state operations, including space for life sciences research, blood collections, processing and cell therapy manufacturing. The location will host nearly 1,000 employees.


The Rye campus is expected to be finished in mid-to-late 2024 and will be the first-ever single campus for NYBCe.

Report: New York/New Jersey a Top Market

for Life Sciences Talent


The New York/New Jersey market ranks No. 4 in the country in CBRE’s 2023 Life Sciences Research Talent Report, which identifies the top 25 life sciences labor markets in the country. The market had the most annual graduates in biological and biomedical sciences in the U.S. – almost 3,000 new degrees more than runner-up Los Angeles/Orange County. As a result, the region is ideal for major employers seeking the most highly educated talent.

Research sites too often acquire a package of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) from a vendor, a partner, or an industry peer. While having SOPs in place is typically good, are your SOPs tailored to your institution? Do they align with your processes, staff, and setting? This session will cover key methods in the process of identifying and developing required procedures and implementing to support fitness for purpose, as well as identify key activities to facilitate development and maintenance of quality SOPs and controlled documents.
