Laronix, the creators of Bionic Voice, the world's first smart wearable electronic voice prosthesis for laryngectomees, were recently profiled by Westchester Magazine.

A graduate of the first cohort of the Westchester County Biosciences Accelerator, Laronix is headquartered in White Plains.

Cognition Therapeutics Announces New Scientific Publication on Therapeutic Potential of Targeting Receptor for

Age-related Degenerative Diseases

Purchases-based Cognition Therapeutics, Inc. announced that a review article titled, “Sigma-2 Receptors – From Basic Biology to Therapeutic Target: A Focus on Age-Related Degenerative Diseases” (doi.org/10.3390/ijms24076251) was published online in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. This peer-reviewed publication summarizes the current evidence-based understanding of sigma-2 (σ-2) receptor biology and function, and its potential as a therapeutic target for age-related degenerative diseases of the central nervous system, including Alzheimer’s disease, α-synucleinopathies such as dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and dry age-related macular degeneration.

This review summarizes the evidence supporting Cognition’s lead σ-2 modulator, CT1812, and provides a strong mechanistic rationale for advancing CT1812 to Phase 2 clinical trials for early- and mild-to-moderate Alzheimer’s disease and DLB as well as an upcoming trial in geographic atrophy secondary to dry AMD.

Curemark Announces New

Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Finance

Rye Brook’s Curemark announced that Stacy E. Grant has joined the company as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Finance, effective immediately.

Previously, Ms. Grant was a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley and enjoyed a successful 25-year career in finance and private wealth management. During her tenure, she advised some of the nation's largest and most influential entrepreneurs and companies. A Finance Fellow at the Aspen Institute, Ms. Grant has helped many tech and biotech companies navigate the capital markets to fund their businesses at every stage of development and expansion.

Sapience Therapeutics to Present at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023

Harrison-headquartered, Sapience Therapeutics, Inc., a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on the discovery and development of peptide therapeutics to address oncogenic and immune dysregulation that drive cancer, announced the presentation of two late-breaking research posters during the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2023, taking place April 14-19, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.
