Public Hearing

A public hearing will be held before the Village President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Westchester on April 23, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at Village of Westchester Village Hall, located at 10300 Roosevelt Road, Westchester, Illinois, 60154, to consider the Village’s annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2024 and ending April 30, 2025.

• The minutes of the April 9, 2024 Village Board meeting
• The minutes of the April 9, 2024 Committee of the Whole meeting
• The declaration and disposal or sale of surplus furniture
• A proposal for the 2024 Spring Concrete Restoration Program
• A proposal for the Emergency Lead Service Line Replacement Project
• The declaration and sale of surplus water meters
• An amendment to the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Village and Teamsters Local Union 705
• The annual appropriation for fiscal year 2025
• The adoption of a study and policy related to the compensation and classification of non-represented Village employees
• An amendment to the Municipal Code related to staffing departments
• A proposal from S.B.C. Waste Solutions, Inc. for the Refuse, Recycling, and Yard Waste Collection Services Program

Village Board meetings are on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month in the Board Room of Village Hall at 6:00 pm, unless otherwise noted, and are immediately followed by the Committee of the Whole meeting.

2023 Village of Westchester Person of the Year - Dave Kosir

The Village is proud to have honored Dave Kosir as their Person of the Year at the Westchester Chamber of Commerce “Celebrate Westchester” event last week. Dave has been an outstanding Community Service Officer with the Westchester Police Department for more than three years. Outside of those duties, he has gone above and beyond to assist with Communications and Information Technology - always eager to keep the Village connected to our residents and neighbors. He is truly an asset to the community, and we are grateful to have him on our team!

No Mow 'til Mother's Day

We are pleased to announce a new environmental initiative, following a recommendation from the Ecological Commission, GROW. During the Village Board meeting held on April 9, 2024, the Village President officially proclaimed the "No Mow 'til Mother's Day" initiative.

This Proclamation is aimed at encouraging our community members to temporarily halt lawn mowing activities until Mother's Day. The objective of this initiative is to promote the flourishing of flowers, thereby supporting early-season pollinators that are crucial for our ecosystem.

Please note, Code Enforcement will refrain from issuing citations for overgrown lawns at residences participating in this initiative until after May 12th. While it is not mandatory to register for this program, we encourage residents to demonstrate their participation by printing and displaying the provided sign in a visible location, such as a window or on a door.
