Rally at the State House for Investment of Federal Funds in Local Public Health!

What we have in front of us now is a once in a lifetime opportunity, an opportunity to build on the investment from the state and the work that DPH and locals are already doing. We now have the chance to advocate for a transformational investment in local public health – a down payment on the local public health system that the Commonwealth needs and deserves. This opportunity comes to us through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021.

Over $8 billion dollars is coming to Massachusetts – and our priorities to invest in an equitable and efficient local public health system are all eligible under ARPA. However, although we may all know that these investments are needed, and that investing in a strong, sustainable and resilient local health system is the best use of these dollars, we are competing with many, many other priorities. And that is why the time is now to come together and fight harder than we ever have.

We ask that you please join us (and bring 10 of your closest colleagues/friends!) on Wednesday June 9th at 11am outside of the Massachusetts State House to call for a major investment in an equitable and efficient local and regional public health system!

If advocating for a once in a lifetime investment in our local public health system, celebrating and honoring the work of local public health over this last year, and re-connecting with colleagues is not incentive enough – know that lunch will also be provided after the event AND CEUs are available!
