Western New England University School of Law is delighted to welcome seven exceptional new faculty this fall. They bring a wide breadth of scholarly achievement and potential, teaching expertise, practice experience, and new perspectives to the School of Law across all subject matters and disciplines. They represent a bright addition to the future of the School of Law, with an unwavering dedication to teaching and supporting the next generation of lawyers and leaders in western Massachusetts, the region, the nation, and the world. Dr. Luwam Dirar

Dr. Luwam Dirar is currently a Senior Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, studying Law and Development, International Economic Law, International Organizations & Human Rights, and Third World Approaches to International Law. She has previously served as a researcher at Harvard University and Harvard Law School, a visiting scholar at the University of Pretoria, and as a Legal Advisor in the Ministry of Justice in Eritrea. She earned her Doctorate in Juridical Sciences (JSD) and Masters of Law (LLM) from Cornell University Law School, and her Bachelor of Law (LLB) from the University of Asmara Faculty of Law (Eritrea).


Dr. Dirar will be joining WNE Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Contracts, Contract Drafting and Internet Law in the 2022-23 academic year

Stacey Lantagne

Professor Stacey Lantagne is currently the Associate Dean for Faculty Development and a tenured faculty member at the University of Mississippi College of Law. Her research interests include copyright and trademark law, especially in relation to the ways in which layperson understanding of the law has impacted—or failed to impact—the practice of such law. She has developed a national reputation as a scholar on fan creativity on the Internet, examining fanfiction, fanart, fanvids, and other forms of fan interaction with entertainment media, such as Internet memes. Professor Lantagne earned her JD from Harvard Law School and her BA from Boston College.


Professor Lantagne will be joining WNE Law as a Professor of Law, teaching Contracts, Entertainment Law, and Intellectual Property in the 2022-23 academic year

Montana Martinez

Montana Martinez is currently completing his LLM in constitutional law at Columbia Law School, where he is focusing on issues related to religious freedom and constitutional rights. He was previously a practicing attorney in Salt Lake City, Utah. He earned his JD at George Washington University School of Law and his BA at the University of Utah.


Professor Martinez will be joining WNE Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Constitutional Law, First Amendment, and Race and Law in the 2022-23 academic year

Tolulope “Tolu” Odunsi

Professor Tolulope “Tolu” Odunsi is currently a Lecturer in Law, Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research at the University at Buffalo School of Law. At Buffalo, she currently serves on the President’s Advisory Council on Race, and previously served as Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the law school. Her research interests include Employment Discrimination Law, Civil Rights Law, Critical Race Theory, and Diversity in Legal Practice. She earned her JD from American University Washington College of Law, and her BS from Binghamton University, State University of New York.


Professor Odunsi will be joining WNE Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Civil Procedure, Evidence, and a course called Race, Diversity and Employment Law in the 2022-23 academic year.

Claudia Quintero

Claudia Quintero is currently a staff attorney at Central West Justice Center, where she focuses on the migrant seasonal farmworker project, which provides holistic legal advocacy to farmworkers across Massachusetts on housing, work conditions, and other protections, while advocating for these workers on the state level. She earned her JD from Western New England University School of Law, her Master’s in Rhetoric—Communication Studies from the University of Utah, and her BA from California State University—Los Angeles.


Professor Quintero will be joining WNE Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Lawyering Skills I and II in the 2022-23 academic year

Jessica Mahon Scoles

Professor Jessica Mahon Scoles is currently an Assistant Professor of Legal Research and Writing at Boston College Law School. Prior to joining legal academia, she practiced complex civil litigation at multiple large law firms. Professor Scoles earned her JD from Loyola Law School (Loyola Marymount University) and her BS from Boston University.


Professor Scoles will be joining WNE Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, teaching Lawyering Skills I and II in the 2022-23 academic year

Nicole Belbin.jpg

Nicole Belbin

Nicole Belbin is currently the Interim Director of the Law Library at Western New England University School of Law, and has worked in the Law Library since 2005. She earned her JD from Western New England University School of Law, her MSLIS from Drexel University, her BS from Western New England University, and her AS from Bay Path University.


Dean Belbin served in the United States Marine Corps. She is accredited by the Veterans’ Administration (VA) to assist veterans with filing VA claims. She is passionate about veterans’ law, access to justice, and the role libraries play in student success.


At the start of the 2022-23 academic year, Dean Belbin will transition into the role of Associate Dean for Law Library and Information Resources and Assistant Professor of Law Library Research.
