Western Week Street Closures
During Western Week, Old Town transforms into an authentic old west experience with a host of western-themed events, festivals, artwalks and family-friendly fun. These events are promoted to the media, and included in printed materials, digital ads, social media and through the event website ScottsdaleWesternWeek.com . Our goal for Western Week is to entice people to experience Old Town and discover new shops, dining establishments and activities. 
Friday, Feb 7
HASHKNIFE PONY EXPRESS & FOOD TRUCK ROUND UP
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Marshall Way closed near the museum entrance from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
 
The oldest officially sanctioned Pony Express celebrates its 62nd year with riders blazing their trail from the tiny town of Holbrook, Arizona. At high noon, welcome their arrival in front of Scottsdale’s Museum of the West as they conclude their 200-mile trek with more than 20,000 pieces of mail. Enjoy family-friendly games, storytelling, crafts, face painting, onsite food trucks, Hashknife Pony Express merchandise sales, meet ‘n greet with Pony Express riders, live entertainment and more.

 
Saturday, Feb 8
67 th ANNUAL PARADA DEL SOL PARADE & TRAIL’S END FESTIVAL
  • Parade: 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Festival: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Parade route begins at the Drinkwater Blvd. /Scottsdale Rd. intersection, heading south to 1 st St., turning right and going past Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, turning left on 2 nd St., and a final left on Brown Ave. where the parade ends at Indian School Rd. Staging for the parade participants will be at the parade start located at 6 th Ave and Drinkwater Blvd., just east of Scottsdale Rd. 

“Western Legends,” the Parada theme this year honors the World War II Code Talkers. Enjoy colorful floats, mounted horse riders, horse-drawn carriages, marching bands, wagons and stagecoaches. Following the parade, a western-spirited festival begins, featuring live western-themed music, native dancers, street entertainment and a cowboy kids’ zone. 

Streets for the parade & festival will be closed beginning at 4 a.m. Streets not included in the festival footprint will reopen by 12:30 p.m. (Indian School Rd., Marshall Way, 2 nd  St., and all streets located north of Indian School Rd.) Scottsdale Rd. will reopen by 6 p.m.,   and streets within the festival footprint will reopen by 8 p.m.

Merchants, owners, customers and employees located within the festival footprint may use the city public parking lot located at Brown Ave./2 nd St. prior to 9:00 a.m. if a parking pass is displayed and shown to the officer on duty or security staff on 2 nd Street . The Brown Ave./2 nd St. public parking lot will be inaccessible from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for both entering and exiting due to the parade. The 2 nd St. parking lot entrance and exit will reopen following the parade at 12:30 p.m. and will be opened to the public for parking on a first-come first-serve basis. There will be over 100 parking spaces available. The north half of the surface parking lot will be activated with the Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To access the lot please enter at 2 nd St. and Brown Ave. and check in with the officer on duty or security staff. All merchants need to have their vehicle parked before 9:00 a.m. Police will not let you into the lot after 9:00 a.m. Please give yourself extra time for traffic.
