Western's Board sets Public Hearing for water and sewer rate adjustments
Water and sewer rate proposal to be voted on by Western Board at June 2 public meeting at 6 p.m.
During its regularly scheduled Board Meeting on Wednesday, April 7, the Western Municipal Water District (Western) Board of Directors heard recommendations from staff to consider a four-year adjustment to water and sewer rates, and service charges. The Western Board moved the recommendation forward for a Public Hearing set for Wednesday, June 2 at 6 p.m.

A cost-of-service analysis of Western's current rates has indicated a need for increased rates to respond to the increasing costs of:

  • Purchasing imported and local water supplies.
  • Complying with state-mandated drinking water regulatory requirements.
  • Treating wastewater.
  • Maintaining and operating the production, distribution, and collection systems to and from your property.
