Dade City, Florida, 3/23/2017 -Florida State University (FSU) film students are going to film parts of a movie in front of the "1860 Overstreet House" at the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village. The movie is a western. Filming will take place at night on Monday March 27 & Wednesday, March 29. The museum will close to the public at the regular time, 5:00 p.m.
FSU Film School will have approximately 18 in their film crew (which may include makeup artists, stunt coordinators, or extras and four actors. They will be bringing a truck full of lighting, props, sound, cameras, and anything else they may need.
The Pioneer Florida Museum is donating the use of the property for the film. In return, the Pioneer Florida Museum will receive a copy of the finished film, credit in the film itself, and an invitation to the screening.
“All of us at the museum are thrilled to be able to accommodate this student production,” said Stephanie Black, Executive Director of the Pioneer Florida Museum & Village. Black says, “I love that we have an elementary school here in the morning touring the buildings and having a picnic. Then at night, college students are here making a film. I hope they all enjoy their time here.”
