Westfield Families,

The new school year is just two short weeks away! Below are some back to school updates and important information we invite you to review as you prepare for the year ahead. Enjoy these last days of summer; we’ll see you soon!

BACK TO SCHOOL

School begins Wednesday, August 6th. Registration for the Cafeteria Meal Plan, Bus Transportation, Magnus Health, and After School Program are now open. Homeroom assignments and schedules can be viewed in Veracross after August 1st.

More general back to school information can be viewed by clicking the button below.

PLAYGROUND UPDATE

We’re excited to share that the new playground equipment and safety surfacing have been installed, and the finished result looks fantastic. We’re confident our students will enjoy the space.

While this marks a major milestone in the project, drainage, grading, and landscaping work still need to be completed before the playground is fully finished. As with any project of this scope, timing depends on several factors, but we’re moving forward as efficiently as possible.

In the meantime, we anticipate that students will be able to enjoy the equipment when it’s not undergoing active work.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we work to provide an even better play space for our students.

MEDICAL INFORMATION

Immunizations/Religious Exemptions: If you have an updated immunization record or Religious Exemption (this must be updated yearly), you can bring these to the front office, Rikki Cottle's (School Nurse), office, or during the Meet and Greet/Locker Times listed below. This is especially important for Kindergarten, 7th grade, and 11th grade as the health department will audit these grades sometime in August.

Medications: If your student has emergency medications or scheduled medications, the School Nurse will be available during the following times. Parents must bring medications. Please do not send students with medications.

  • Lower school: Meet and Greet August 4th from 4pm-5:30pm in the Lower School Media Center
  • Middle and Upper School: Locker Time August 5th 1pm-4pm in the Nurse's office (located in the Middle School)

MAGNUS HEALTH

As we prepare for the new school year, please take a few minutes to update your child’s health information through Magnus Health, our secure online system for managing student medical records.

Magnus Health is where you’ll submit important information like:

  • Emergency contacts
  • Immunization records
  • Allergy and medication details
  • Required medical forms

You can access Magnus from any device, get reminders about missing forms, and receive updates about any health visits during the school day.

New families will get a welcome email from Magnus Health soon with login instructions. Please keep an eye out for it!

If you need help or have questions, feel free to contact our School Nurse, Rikki Cottle, at 478-987-0547 ext. 231.

Thank you for helping us keep our students safe and healthy!

CLAY TARGET ANNOUNCEMENT

The first team practice will be held Wednesday, July 30th at 6 PM at Ocmulgee Gun Club. This practice is open to all who are interested in joining the team for the upcoming school year.

WRESTLING UPDATE

After 15 years of dedicated leadership and five state championships, Coach Mike Thompson has decided to step down as Head Coach of the Westfield Wrestling team. We are incredibly grateful for the legacy he leaves behind and are pleased to share that he will continue to support the program in an advisory role to ensure a smooth and healthy transition.

We are excited to announce that Daniel Faulkner will be stepping in as our new Head Wrestling Coach. Coach Faulkner brings a wealth of experience and success both as an athlete and a coach. Coach Faulkner will be assisted by Coach Lee Campbell, Coach Porter Faulk, and Coach Gerald Carr. Please join us in welcoming Daniel Faulkner as our new Head Wrestling Coach!

The Wrestling program is now open to all currently enrolled Westfield students in grades 4–12, with the official season beginning on November 3rd. At a later date, more information will be available to those interested in participating on the team. In the meantime, we’re excited to offer a free Wrestling Camp for students in grades 4–12 on July 28–31, from 4:00–6:00 PM in the Gymnatorium. Participation in the camp does not obligate any student to be on the team, and students are not required to attend all four days of the camp. Students participating in the camp will be divided up into groups based upon, age, size, and experience. Campers should wear shorts and a t-shirt. Newcomers are welcome!

If your student is interested in attending the camp, please email Coach Faulkner at danielfaulknerwrestling@gmail.com with the following information:

  • Wrestler's name
  • Confirmation of attendance
  • T-shirt size
