From Our Principal
Good morning WHS families,
We had a very busy week that featured our National Signing Day for athletes as well as our Strings Concert and Academic
Challenge contest. Congratulations to Alise Emser, Meredith Hansen, Ellie Templeton, Dominic Bauer and Cory DuBois. You can read their write-up here. These student-athletes are terrific examples of hard
work and perseverance. We are very happy for them!
Recently, we have had many individual students recognized for their tremendous efforts both in the class and out in the community. We had two students, Ryan Karpuszka and Patrick Lee recognized as Presidential Scholar candidates. They are 2 of only 110 students in Ohio to be recognized. Norah Wilson and Jack Wu were also acknowledged as finalists for the Coca Cola National Scholarship. Finally, we are pleased to announce that Carolyn Bedell was 1 of only 8 students in Ohio recognized with the "Prudential Spirit of Community Award." This award recognized superior effort by teens in the area of service. We are so proud of all of these students and their continued efforts.
Conferences at Westlake High School are set for Wednesday, February 14 from 8:00 am-3:00 pm. You can sign up
for conferences here. Counselors are also available to meet with families to discuss any concerns or questions that you may have.
Thank you for having continued discussions with your students about getting to school on time
.
Last week improved slightly and we are hoping that our efforts will continue to push the trend in a positive direction
.
When we have discussed this with our students
, we have encouraged them to simply leave a little earlier. Our building is open at 6:30 am daily.
As always, I encourage you to review the
WHS announcements
