From Our Principal

Good morning WHS families,

I hope that your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  Believe it or not, we have three and half weeks until Winter break and six weeks until the end of the first semester.  Before you know it, we will be scheduling classes for the 2018/2019 school year!

Before we jump too far ahead, there a few items that have started to arise recently.  We are noticing an increase in tardiness to school.  Please remember that students have to be in class by 7:50 am, not simply in the building.  With winter weather arriving soon, I encourage families and student drivers to leave home a little earlier to allow for any possible delays so that you are on time for first period.  Recently, many families have started to receive attendance letters in the mail.  As you may recall, in December 2016, the Ohio General Assembly passed House Bill 410 to encourage and support a preventative approach to excessive absences and truancy.  Please review the link provided, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of the principals at WHS.

As always, I encourage you to review the WHS announcements.  They are a great source of information that are updated daily. Have you had the opportunity to view our new Friday morning video announcements? Finally, I encourage all families to review the Westlake City Schools Profile.  It is filled with lots of information related to our school district.

Have a wonderful week!
