Westland, MI (December 14, 2020) -  The City of Westland will be establishing a free drive thru COVID-19 testing clinic in order to assist in the Wayne County COVID Testing Initiative, which aims to increase testing within the county to 8,000 tests per day.

The testing will take place in the parking lot at the Westland Friendship Center, located at 1119 Newburgh Rd. Residents will have no out of pocket expenses for testing. However, if insurance information is available, it will be collected for the laboratory testing fees.  There is no pre-registration or appointments needed. Minors must be accompanied by a parents or guardian. Residents can expect to receive their results within 2-3 days, which will be shared via email, phone call or text message.
 
Westland's COVID-19 testing site will open at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 17. Testing will be done 6 days a week until further notice and will be available at the following times:

Monday through Friday - 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Individuals should not take any fever reducing medications prior to testing. When arriving at the drive thru clinic, please have a form of identification ready. Visitors are asked that they leave their car windows up until asked to lower them.
