Friends,
Today we may feel weighed down by many feelings —disappointment, numbness, fear, anger, sadness over the outcome of the elections. I invite you to join me to take time today to be gentle to ourselves, grieve, shed tears... take time to breathe and process all the feelings.
I always find that poets have a way of speaking about reality that opens my heart to recognize our groundedness in Love, and Light, and Goodness. So I offer to you this poem written by a pastor colleague and poet, Rev. Jenny McDevitt this morning. May it guide our mind, body and soul today.

Here we are.
Here is what I know, in the marrow of my bones, to be true:
When Jesus Christ, the Word of God, became flesh,
and walked on this earth in human body,
and felt with the emotions of a human psyche,
every bit of our humanity became holier than ever before.
So today, trust that whatever you are feeling,
whatever is filling your body and your soul,
it is holy.
If you are numb,
know that numbness — for a time — can be holy and protective.
If you are sad,
know that tears — for a time — can be holy and cleansing.
If you are angry,
know that anger — when rightly directed — can be holy and honest.
If you are raging,
know that rage — when properly channeled — can be holy and transformative.
If you are quiet,
know that silence — for a time — can be holy and generative.
If you are afraid,
know that fear — in its own way — can be holy and make way for angels to speak.
If you are frozen,
know that stillness — in a divine way — can be holy and the way that resurrection gains its footing.
Whatever else you may be feeling,
it is known to God
and honored by God
and is accompanied by God.

I am grateful for you, and hope that you will join us for worship and conversation afterwards. Bring your questions, your fears, your hopes. May we keep holding each other in Love and Light, and Goodness, as we move forward together.
Grace and Peace,
Pastor Enikö
