From Your Pastor
Dear Beloved of God,
We have now completed the three congregational gatherings scheduled for this fall. Thank you to all who participated. All the information gathered from you is in the Google folder. Please click here to view.
Please continue to hold the Session and staff in prayer as we discern next steps based on what we heard from you during the gatherings.
Peace,
Peggy

Guatemala Youth Worship Service Starts Tonight
Youth and young adults active in CHPC's partner presbytery in Guatemala will be gathering today, Thursday, November 9, and tomorrow, Friday, November 10, to celebrate the anniversary of their coming together. The events will take place in the Arca de Noe church in downtown El Estor.
A short video will be shared with greetings from Crescent Hill folks.
We at CHPC are invited not only to pray for the events and the participants, but also to participate by watching the worship service starting tonight at 8 p.m. on the Facebook page of Arca de Noe's youth and young adult group at: https://www.facebook.com/iglesia.presbiteriana.31

Volunteer Opportunity
Help is needed to prepare communion on the first Sunday of the month, and for special holidays. It's a simple task that would require you to arrive at church by 10:30 to do preparation, and stay after church about 15 minutes to clean up. Please contact Faith Grady to be added to the volunteer list. You can let her know what Sundays you are available by emailing office@crescenthill.church or calling 502-893-5381.

Sharing Nativity Sets
Do you have one or more nativity sets (creches) that you would like to see displayed in the sanctuary windows during Advent?
If so, please bring them to church this Sunday, November 13, or the following Sunday, November 20. Leave the set in the room off the narthex. Be sure to enclose a note with your name and, if you like, a brief note about the nativity/creche.
If more convenient, you may also leave nativities on the Lloyd-Sidle’s screened-in porch at 109 Oxford Place.
Questions? Contact Tricia Lloyd-Sidle, revtjls@gmail.com or 502-681-4059.

Made Your Financial Pledge Yet?
It’s not too late to make a 2023 financial commitment to CHPC’s 2023 budget. Simply fill out a pledge card and return it in the offering plate or mail it to the church office. If you need another pledge card, please contact the church office or the treasurer, Jack Marcum, at treasurer@crescenthill.church or 502-403-8247.
If you’ve already made a financial pledge, we thank you. We’ve received 33 so far, for a total of $146,700.

Lunch Reminder
The catered lunches at the congregational gatherings cost $9.00 each. If you haven’t paid for yours yet, you can make a check out to the church, write “lunch” on the memo line, and put it in the offering plate on Sunday or mail it to the church office.

Coffee and Conversation
You are invited to stop by Henry Young Hall on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 10:45 for coffee and conversation. Nothing formal is planned. This is just an opportunity to be together and maybe get to know one another better.

Children’s Sunday School on Zoom
Children of all ages are invited to come Zoom with us from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. every Sunday. We will gather for music, Bible stories, crafts, and more. Throughout the fall we will hear stories about Moses, Ruth, David, and other ancestors in the faith. Our crazy friend Sid is back too. Join us each week to see how Sid, once again, has fundamentally misunderstood the Bible story.
Never a dull moment in children’s Sunday school! Teachers are Jerry Van Marter, Eva Stimson, Bev Machin, and Luke Van Marter (aka Sid). Please let us know if you would like to join our teaching team. Email Jerry to get on the list to receive weekly Zoom invitations and other announcements.

Youth Group Activities Through December 2022
Sunday, November 13, 2-5 p.m. Champs Rollerdome. Meet at Champs or if a ride would help, we're always happy to give rides or carpool. For those who are able, please bring $15 (includes skate rental), or $20 if you'd also like anything from the snack bar. If financial assistance is needed, let us know. However, if you want to bring your own water bottle, we will have some snacks in youth leaders' cars before/after skating. Outside food is not allowed.
Sunday, December 11, 3-6 p.m. Marvel movie watching with a taco bar!! We will have some fun movie and taco time at church in the youth room. If desired, we can also brainstorm ideas of how to fix up the youth room, play some ping pong, or do some arts/crafts while watching. We'll decide collectively which movie to watch.
For any and all questions, call/text Rebecca Barnes or email revrebeccabarnes@gmail.com
