Souper Pooper Bowl Sunday

Join Outreach Committee in the church parking lot on Sunday, February 12, 12:30 -2:30 PM for Souper Pooper Bowl. Bring canned goods for Souper Bowl and diapers (18 months and larger) and wipes for Pooper Bowl. We will have hot chocolate, coffee, and sweets available.

Still Time to Pay Your Remaining 2022 Pledge

Didn't contribute all of your 2022 pledge to CHPC? It's not too late--you can still fulfill your pledge in 2023. Simply write a check for all or some of the unpaid amount and drop it in the offering plate or mail it to church, writing "2022 pledge" on the memo line. All contributions are welcome!

Annual Meeting & Potluck

Bring a dish to share and join us for our Annual Meeting and potluck lunch on Sunday, February 19 following worship. Please mark your calendars to attend this opportunity to fellowship and hear about the mission and ministry of the congregation. The written report will be available for your review prior to the meeting. 

Youth Group times in February

Youth group-- Feb 12 , noon to 2:30pm-- at the church

Theme: Outward and Inward Love! 💗

Outward love/service activity related to the "Soup"er Bowl Sunday is a special event to collect canned goods and non-perishable items as well as diapers and wipes, for United Crescent Hill Ministries. At noon, youth will have pizza (carrots/grapes) in the youth room at noon, then help out from 12:30-1:30pm with this service activity where people drive through the church parking lot to drop off donations (we will sign for any youth wanting a service hour for their school). Then at 1:30 the youth group will re-gather in the youth room for eating Valentine's treats as we also talk about self-compassion and inward love (led by Mark and Barbara Barnes who have done self-compassion courses). Parent pick-ups at 2:30pm.

Feb 26, church-wide/intergenerational activity

"Build-a-Bed" after church (lunch will be provided)- we will form teams to put together bed frames/bedding for children in JCPS who don't have beds. We again can sign for a service hour for any youth group member wanting one. Pick-ups at 3:30pm. RSVPs are appreciated, contact Ben Langley or let a youth leader know.

Zoom Sunday School for Children

Children of all ages are welcome to join us from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. on Zoom for Bible stories, music, conversation, and visits with our crazy friend Sid. Will Sid continue to “fundamentally misunderstand” the Bible stories about Jesus as we move through January and into Lent and Easter? Join us and find out!

Zoom Sunday school is led by Eva Stimson, Jerry Van Marter, and Bev Machin. Please contact one of them if you are interested in joining the leadership team. Contact Jerry Van Marter to get on the list to receive weekly Zoom invitations and curriculum materials.

Per Capita for 2023

The "per capita apportionment"--per member fee--for 2023 is $25.90. Please help the church budget by paying your own per capita amount. Make your check to "CHPC" and write per capita on the memo line. There's also a per capita option on the church giving website. The per capita amount is determined by the higher councils of the PC(USA), and supports their functioning. The 2023 amount is split among the presbytery ($12.07), the synod ($3.98), and the General Assembly ($9.85).
