A Story Shared by Jack Marcum

Ever wonder who the people were who have their names memorialized in our sanctuary stained-glass windows? I know I have. By a curious coincidence, I learned a little about David Reid, whose name is on the window at the back right (north side). I happened to meet Barbara Hartung, nee Reid, who was baptized and married at Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church. She told me that David was her uncle, and he died at age 14 or 15 in the 1930s after falling and getting an infection, which in those pre-antibiotic days couldn’t be treated.

If you know stories about the other folks so memorialized, please send them to the church office at office@crescenthill.church.com.

Invitation to Be a Nursery Volunteer

The Nurture Committee is planning ahead and wants to be ready for young children and their parents who might need to use our nursery space during our worship services. Two volunteers will be needed at any time. All volunteers are required to have satisfactorily completed a background check before being able to volunteer.

Four CHPC members have already signed up. These include: Soni Castleberry, Claudia Foulkes, Eva Stimson, and Jerry Van Marter. If interested in serving in this ministry of our church, please let Soni know (502-417-6481).

Future Preaching Opportunities

Pastor Tami is putting together a list of individuals in the congregation who would like to be considered for filling the pulpit when she is on vacation or is out serving the larger church.

Please email or call the church office to be placed on the pulpit supply list. In the next six months, the dates for these opportunities are 4/7 (must be PCUSA ordained for communion service), 5/26, and 7/14.

Please remember these wonderful folks in prayer and, if possible, reach out to them with a card, phone call, text, email or however you choose to honor them. To double-check your listing, contact Soni Castleberry at soni.castleberry@gmail.com or phone or text at 502-417-6481.
