SHOULD CHPC HAVE A MEMORIAL GARDEN?

Are you interested in working with Rebecca Barnes and Soni Castleberry to develop a response to this question? Or can you add suggestions for consideration? If so, please contact Soni Castleberry at (502) 417-6481 or soni.castleberry@gmail.com. Among other important things, the location of a memorial garden will have to be considered.

Word has it that ashes may already have been placed on the church property by previous family members in our church community. We do not need names, but if anyone knows the general location of such scatterings or burials, it would be helpful to have that information. Likewise, please share information on other nearby churches who have such areas or researched it and declined.

The question was considered by Session in May in response to an email inquiry from Rebecca Barnes who also offered to coordinate research on the possibility of a memorial garden for either sprinkled or buried ashes on the church property. Session accepted Rebecca’s offer to lead this effort and Soni Castleberry, Session member, will work with Rebecca. Now we ask you to join them in this endeavor.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 am at Pewee Valley Presbyterian Church, 119 Central Avenue, Pewee Valley, KY. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:45 am at the church. Following the service, a meal will be served.

Prayer Group for the Middle East

Feel free to join us Thursdays on Zoom, in-person, or both. This group has enabled such support for one another as we all struggle to cope with the tragedies in the Middle East and the on and off cease fires and prisoner releases. The first Thursday of each month the group will meet in person. Please reach out to Soni for locations.
