Can We Talk?
Conversations about Race and Racism
Sundays, August 7, 14, 21 & 28 at 11:00 am

Can we talk? What does the phrase "Black Lives Matter" mean to you? How do you experience race? Where do you see racism? How can the church confront racism? How can you personally confront racism? What concerns and hopes do you around issues of race and racism?  Each Sunday during August you are invited to a forum at 11:00 am in the Parlor to discuss these and other questions. Members of our Governance Council and others will guide these conversations. Everyone is invited to take part.
  • August 14 ▪ Special Guest: Lt. Oneil Ormsby, Montgomery County Police: Race and Policing
  • August 21 ▪ Conversation with George Singleton: His Story and Experiences
  • August 28 ▪ Panel of Guests from Other Churches: Sharing Ideas About Racial Justice
And look for more conversations. Our Board of Social Justice and Action will offer a class entitled "White Privilege: Let's Talk" beginning Sunday, September 11.
