Sunday, November 20, 4:30-6:00, Parlor

We will discuss Coudstreet by Tim Winton. Driven by separate tragedies to share the same house, the two families could hardly have been more different: the devoutly religious Lambs find meaning in hard work and God's grace, while the Pickles hope for good luck and don't share the Lambs' appetite for hard work. Between the joyous, mysterious opening and the joyous, beautiful close this novel explores the variety of life, miracles and tragedy, family hate and love, disability, divine protection, and home. Please join us for snacks and discussion of this masterpiece of Australian literature.
November Children's Collection -
Anacostia Health Clinic

The clinic provides many forms of healthcare for the homeless in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, DC. We will collect: Christmas gifts for children (infants thru 10 years old). New clothing, books, toys (If you wrap the gift, please label the package contents.)

Items will be collected during the Time for Children on Sunday mornings.
Syrian Refugee Support

Thank you to all who have donated items to support Syrian refugee families.  We still need bikes for children, CD players, DVD players and old tablets or IPADs so we can set them up for on-line tutoring. The families are asking for the old-fashioned blankets, and some kids still need jackets and boots (used ones please).  Please contact Nancy Pielemeier to arrange for drop off or pickup.
