Beverages (coffee, tea, water, juice/lemonade) and tableware are provided by Westmoreland. Food is a welcome addition and is provided by Coffee Hour Host(s). Please sign up to host coffee hour (once per year is recommended) with your family or pair-up with another member of the church.

Calling All Artists!
The Arts Committee of Westmoreland is planning an all church art exhibition. For this exhibit we want to display the artistic expressions of children and adults, across as many genres as possible. This is an opportunity to share your artistic side with others in the church community. All are welcome. Given space restrictions, we need to limit the number of art pieces submitted to three per pe
Installation of the exhibit will be April 22 and 23, with the opening on Sunday April 24th. Each piece needs to be brought ready to hang, or otherwise exhibited. Please identify your work with your name on each piece and if you choose, a brief description of your art.
Please notify Marge Harvey of your contribution to the exhibit no later than April 14.

Adult Spiritual Formation: "Saving Capitalism: For the Many, Not the Few"
Sundays, 9:00am, Library
Beginning April 10
We will discuss Robert Reich's book "Saving Capitalism," an excellent analysis of how the well off in America have tilted our economic and political systems in their favor at the expense of the middle and lower classes.
Notes will be prepared a week in advance each week so you can participate even if you haven't read the book.

Prime Timers invite you to join our special guest Doug Gaddis and us on Tuesday April 19 at noon. Doug will share photos and stories from a few of his recent adventures, including Paris, European Christmas Markets, holiday decorating with family Christmas treasures, and musical performances.

200 People and 9 Pies
In his sermon on January 10, Rev. Tutt challenged the congregation to have worship attendance of 200 or more people for nine Sundays before June 12. If we have nine Sundays with attendance of 200 or more, Rev. Tutt will let the middle and high schoolers "pie" him with nine pies at our summer picnic on June 12, and he will bake nine pies for the congregation to enjoy for dessert at the picnic. Children's Collection in April:
Food for So Others Might Eat
So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.) is an interfaith organization that helps the poor and homeless of Washington, DC by providing food, clothes, and health care. Additionally, they offer services such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment, and counseling. They are a Westmoreland Volunteer Corps host agency and a Westmoreland Social Justice grant recipient.
We will collect the following items in April during our Time for Children for their food bank:
- Pancake Mix
- Ground Coffee
- Non-Refrigerated Creamer
Our SOME casserole delivery on April 6 includes the generous shelf staple donations from Anna Hosh and friends in honor of Anna's 15th birthday. On May 4 we'll deliver the breakfast donations from our April Children's Collection and our usual casseroles. Thank you all for your help in our ongoing support of SOME
"StillVisiting" Congregational Care Program
There are perhaps 20 members of our community who are no longer able to attend worship or most other church events and would enjoy a monthly visit from a fellow Westmorelander as a way to remain connected with the ongoing ministry of Westmoreland. The deacons are seeking 20-25 members to serve as "visitors" in our newly revamped "StillVisiting" program.
Each Westmoreland visitor will be paired with a homebound Westmorelander for short monthly visits to bring the church's greetings, news, and even the service of communion. Tim Tutt will lead a training session in early May, using materials from the UCC's
"Called to Care" program
The deacons plan to launch this congregational outreach program in June. If you know of a fellow Westmorelander who would make a good visitor under our "StillVisiting" program, please send a nominating email to Brad Case or leave a voice message for him at 703-288-1899.
The Parlor Committee and Property Committee are receiving bids from several contractors to do the planned updates to the Parlor. It is anticipated the work will be accomplished in June. Parlor Design configurations have been posted on the Social Hall bulletin board. The three designs show possible arrangements that the Parlor can be configured for depending on a particular function.
New furniture will be ordered for the Parlor. Consequently, the Property Committee is selling the furniture in the Parlor. If you are interested in purchasing any of the furniture, rugs, or art work in the Parlor please
for a listing of the Parlor furniture and price. Contact the Property Chair, Roy Grossnick if you are interested in purchasing any of the items listed. Any items not sold to church members will be either sent to Sloan Kenyon Auction House or Wider Circle. Items in the Parlor that are sold my not be removed until late May.
Money from the sale of the furniture in the Parlor will be used to supplement the renovation of the Parlor. Get a piece of Westmoreland history.
