WestoshaMarket Season in Review
By Melanie Hovey
This Wednesday is our last 2015 WestoshaMarket, so I am thinking about what we have learned. We learned that word-of-mouth, Facebook, a banner ad on West of the I, and a weekly email newsletter brought out crowds, 250 to over 500 shoppers every week. We'd like to see twice that in 2016. What ideas do you have to reach SE Wisconsin and NE Illinois residents? We saw Vendor ranks grow from 19, to more than 30. What other types of products and services would you like to see? We could use more organized parking, and some way-finding signs along Hwy 50. What other improvements would you like to see? Our next WestoshaMarket season will run a month longer, July 6 to September 28, 2016. If you have ideas for next year's WestoshaMarket, please email Melanie@kenoshacommonmarkets.com. Many thanks to AcquaTerra and the Pigott Family for providing a terrific market venue, and to the Village of Bristol for saying Yes, to all the shoppers and vendors, to our intern, Ryan, and to the Kenosha Common Markets team for making WestoshaMarket's inaugural season a big success! See you next year!
