Message from our Principals
Principal Paul Bierman
Associate Principal Katie Mathews
Associate Principal Matt Peetz

And just like that, it’s May! As the school year winds down, let's celebrate our school community for the hard work that has been going on throughout the year. We are proud of our students hard work, for their great behaviors, and for always doing their best. We are thankful for our teachers who work diligently to provide a quality education and make a difference for our children. And a special thanks to our families: your involvement and encouragement is an essential piece that helps our students be successful learners.

As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

May Box Tops Contest
Our final box tops contest of this year will take place during our "Morning with Mom" event. There will be a number of posters displayed in the gym with a paper bag sitting next to each poster. Students should write their full name on the back of the box top (some of them are very small) and drop the top into the bag attached to the poster they want to try to win. Students who are unable to attend the Morning with Mom event will be able to drop their box tops when they arrive at school. Winners will be announced that afternoon.
Health Moves Minds Program
Westside Elementary Physical Education is participating in an educational program called health.moves.minds. Students are learning how to take care of their mind and body, while also developing important character traits such as kindness and empathy. As part of this program, we will be fundraising to help create a more active and healthy environment in our school, which will benefit our students physically, emotionally, socially and academically. Our school has pledged to make the world a kinder place. We need you to help support our efforts.

Our fundraising efforts will go to purchase a new climbing net and a new parachute. We are also going to share part of our donations with the AMERICAN DIABETES ASSOCIATION in honor of Josh, a Westside student living with diabetes.

Fundraising Time Line: May 6-May 31
