May 13, 2021
Hello, Westview families,

On April 2, 2021, in honor of World Autism Day, Qatar’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Meshal bin Hamad Al-Thani, announced donations to a series of partners throughout the United States in recognition of World Autism Day and Autism Awareness Month. I am pleased to announce that The Westview School was selected as a partner, and Qatar has created a three-year scholarship fund for students at The Westview School.

All of the charitable recipients of Qatar's generosity support the autistic community and their families in the United States and help promote a message of acceptance and understanding. The Westview School is very thankful to Qatar for their support of our school and generous donation.

“The Westview School is very excited to partner with the State of Qatar. This collaboration will help us serve more children in the greater Houston area with autism spectrum disorder in need of our programs by bolstering our scholarship fund," said John Moring, Director of Development. "This wonderful partnership with the State of Qatar will help our scholarship fund impact the lives of over 100 Westview families in the next three years.”

We are so thankful to the State of Qatar for choosing The Westview School as a charity of choice. We are excited to use this partnership as an opportunity to help us grow our mission and serve more students in the Greater Houston community.

Coming Soon - Field Day for the 1900 Building
Hey, 1900 Wildcats! Get excited! Field Day is coming soon. On June 1, 2021, all our students in the 1900 building will participate in a staggered time and socially distanced field day on the track. Mr. Mike and Ms. Trevie have a fun-filled day of activities planned - water balloons, bikes and trikes, relays, popsicles, and lots of messy, outdoor fun for our 1900 Wildcats!

What to pack for Field Day? Make sure to send your kiddo to school with the following: a change of clothes, a visor or hat, a refillable water bottle, and a beach towel. Also, we ask that parents apply sunscreen and bug spray before dropping off in the morning and send your student in closed-toed tennis shoes.

We can't wait for some end-of-school fun in the sun!

Support Our Library - Spring Book Fair ends May 16, 2021
HOW TO SHOP: Have you shopped the Westview Book Fair yet? Our Scholastic link to our Book Fair closes on Sunday, May 16. Book Fair is open for parents, students, and teachers to browse and shop. Students can build their wish lists and save them. Parents can then edit those wish lists, making deletions and additions, before checking out. Orders will be shipped directly to your home. Free shipping for orders of books over $25. For more information on how to shop the book fair, here's a short video.

TEACHER WISHLISTS: Instead of teacher wishlists, we have set up eWallets for each teacher. Any family wishing to contribute books for teacher classrooms can add to teacher eWallets. The eWallet funds will be for teachers to purchase books for their classrooms. Find your teacher's eWallet here
