Submit Your Spirits Now for ACSA's Judging Competition
Once again, the American Craft Spirits Association, in affiliation with Artisan Spirit Magazine, is proud to announce its Judging of Craft Spirits. This judging competition stands out because it's the  only  craft judging competition assembled, organized and overseen by  you , the distilling community. We're also pleased to debut the Innovation Award, designed especially for outstanding spirits that may not fit with traditional flavor profiles of particular categories. We will present the Innovation Award in addition to each category's Best of Class honor. Submit by this Saturday, September 15, and pay only $200 per spirit for members and $300 per spirit for non-members. After September 15, the fees rise to $250 per spirit for members and $350 per spirit for non-members. The final deadline to enter is October 8, 2018.
Retired Green Berets to Open Patriotic Distillery in St. Petersburg, Florida
They were some of the first Americans sent to Afghanistan following 9/11, and now they’re set to open a distillery in St. Petersburg. The American Freedom Distillery was started by a group of retired Green Berets and will be located in the Arts District of St. Pete. (WTSP-Channel 10)

Wyoming Whiskey Enters Strategic Partnership with Edrington

Castle & Key Opens at Site of Old Taylor Distillery Next Week
Four years ago a pair of Kentucky businessmen bought a defunct distillery buried under decades of undergrowth and began the daunting process of turning it back into a working whiskey-making operation. Now, the historic property is again a showplace, complete with a restored sunken garden and colonnaded spring house, ready to wow visitors. The former Old Taylor distillery, now named Castle & Key, officially will reopen for visitors and tours on Sept. 19. (Lexington Herald Leader)
Colorado's Golden Moon Undergoing Major Expansion
Golden Moon Distillery, an award-winning distillery in Golden, Colorado, is about to get an upgrade. Founded in 2008 by master distiller Stephen Gould and Karen Knight, Golden Moon has succeeded in producing beloved spirits from absinthe to gin, grappa and even single malt whiskey. (303 Magazine)
George Washington Distillery Releases 200 Bottles of 4-Year-Old Rye
History buffs can now travel back to the time of our nation's first president, with a glass of his original-recipe whiskey. But the limited-run spirit produced at Mount Vernon's reconstructed distillery will cost you: $225 a bottle, to be exact. (Chesapeake Bay Magazine) 
Whiskey Fuels Growth in Iowa
