Welcome to my February email newsletter!

The sales statistics for January have arrived and they paint an interesting picture. Detached home prices in Toronto have stumbled 4% year-over-year. That being said, every other sector's prices have increased in January. Condos lead the way with a 15% increase year-over-year with an almost 2% increase in January alone.

The amount of listings to date in 2018 has been minimal, the second lowest for January in 10 years. I believe this lack of inventory will eventually give way to an upward trend in prices lead by the city's continually hot condo market.

The Dunn Difference

By working with Joel Bray Designs and some exceptional photographers, we transform spaces into desirable homes. This service sets me apart from other realtors when listing your home. Here are a few before and after shots from our recent listing which attracted massive attention, multiple offers and enabled us to sell nearly $10,000 over the exact same unit on another level of the building!

Detached house prices fell but condos went up by 15%.

The closely watched Toronto housing market showed signs of a slowdown last month, as the price of benchmark detached homes fell by almost four per cent in the past year, although condos appreciated by more than three times that amount.

Is Patterned Velvet The New Wallpaper?
Upholstered walls, including velvet, have been taking interiors to the next level for centuries. This luxurious look can be difficult to DIY if wrapping an entire room, but applying fabric to the upper portion of your walls and finishing it off with a plate rail-height molding is an easier and cost-effective way to install velvet as a wall covering.

$2,000 donated to You Can Play in 2017
I have made a further $1,000 donation to the You Can Play project on behalf of 2 clients in December. This brings the yearly contribution to this great organization to $2,000. My goal is to double that in 2018.
I am active in the Toronto Gay Hockey Association and sponsor a team in the league. Each time a member or referral from a member makes a real estate transaction using my services I will donate $500 to the You Can Play Project.
Toronto Getting Its First Cider House
We've got microbreweries, brewpubs, taprooms, alehouses, a thriving craft beer scene and – in just a few weeks – Toronto will have a ciderhouse, too.

Brickworks Cider just announced that it will be opening "the first urban ciderhouse in Canada" this February at Queen and Broadview, right in the heart of Toronto's beer mecca.
