Under the Sea: Ocean Fun in the Preschool Classroom
Taught by Allison Gaskins, Certified Trainer, this preschool “make and take” workshop will provide each participant with a collection of classroom activities which are centered around an ocean theme. These activities include art, music, literature-based activities, math, science, sensory bins and more and can easily be adapted for different ages and ability levels. Each participant should bring $1.00 supply fee. Get ready to dive into some ocean fun for your little ones!

CPR/First Aid
Taught by Bruce Patzke, Administering CPR and aiding a choking victim are demonstrated and participants will practice these skills. First aid topics such as cuts, burns, broken bones, snakebite, seizures, heat stroke, frostbite are covered. Both adult and pediatric CPR will be demonstrated and practiced.

Taught by Yolanda Delgado. We will explore how to make art projects using homemade and inexpensive materials. Emphasis is on the process and not the product as children create projects using their individual creative instincts and understanding.

Age-Appropriate Activities for Children
Taught by Yolanda Delgado. Ideas for planning age-appropriate activities for infants, toddlers, pre-K and school-age children will be presented. The class will focus on visual and auditory stimulation, sensory stimulation, small and large muscle, language development and social/emotional development. Self-help skills will round out the discussion.

Taught by Stacy Dalton, Resource & Inclusion Educator, GISD. Yelling, repeating yourself, getting frustrated, not getting the response you need? There are a few tips and tricks that will help you and your child build a relationship that encourages active listening and quick, appropriate responses.
