As 2024 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the remarkable transformations your support has made possible. This year, hundreds of orphaned pets embarked on their journey from homelessness to loving, forever families.

Every wagging tail, gentle purr, and joyful leap is a testament to just WHAT A DIFFERENCE you have made. Your generosity provided vital medical care, nourishing meals, and the safety of rescue for countless pets in need. Most importantly, it gave them hope – and the promise of a happy, healthy future!

You may remember a story we shared in July about a historical case our partners in Georgia were dealing with:

We took in 3 of these incredibly resilient dogs and began the search for their forever homes. Over the following months, we welcomed 3 more. They arrived frightened—some malnourished, others with health issues—all unsure of the love they so deeply deserved.

This heartfelt update is a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of compassion and advocacy. These dogs, once victims of neglect and abuse, have not only found loving homes but have also become symbols of hope and catalysts for justice, inspiring action against those who harm the voiceless.

From Wall-E’s family: “ I just wanted to tell you that I had an amazing experience at Paws Crossed. The staff was incredible and patient and the wonderful care the animals receive on a daily basis from both the staff and volunteers is apparent. Wall-e immediately felt at home. He's very happy and we are happy to have him. He’s definitely a couch potato! He greets us with a morning kiss and snuggles all day long. We adopted another dog and they have become inseparable and the best of friends!”

Wall-E’s journey from rescue to a loving home is truly heartwarming. He’s found his perfect spot—both on the couch and in the hearts of his family—and even gained a best friend along the way!

Meatloaf, now known as Giuseppe, is living his best life with a new name to match his vibrant personality! With his adorable freckles and endless charm, Giuseppe has become an honorary helper at the local fire department. Whether he’s bringing smiles to the crew or boosting morale, he’s a beloved part of the team—and a true hero in his own right!

From Miso’s family: “Miso, now Sadie, is doing well overall. She is super comfortable in the house and is very playful. We absolutely love having her in our home.” We couldn’t be happier to hear about Sadie’s transformation! Sadie has found her safe haven where she can thrive, play, and bring endless joy.

From Cricket’s family:

“What a difference Cricket makes!! To say that this adorable dog has brought joy and happiness to our house would be an understatement! She is extraordinarily sweet, patient, loving, and playful! Words actually cannot describe her. One has to be looked at adoringly by her, and even hugged, to get the full picture. Thank you Paws Crossed for saving this amazing dog and helping her get to her forever home!”

Cosmo was the very last pup out of 34 to find placement from this landmark case, and it was with Paws Crossed! One look at his smile and we said, “Send him North”.  It was that same smile that made Cosmo’s family fall in love and welcome him into their home where he showers them with smiles, snuggles, and love every day.

We were going to say “Olga is still available for adoption”, but then, holiday magic happens and a family that is fostering Olga, asked that we send over adoption paperwork!!! Please keep your fingers (and paws) crossed, and let’s hope to see an adoption picture soon! What a perfect reminder of the spirit of the season!

Please meet the handsome, bonded brothers, DMX and 50 Cent! They currently are in foster with one of our amazing volunteers/adopter/foster, Marky!!! She stepped right up when we needed an immediate foster to monitor little 50 Cent who had a couple of seizures and was placed on medicine. It is given twice a day, and everyone keep your paws crossed, he is doing well and so ready for a forever home with his brother!

And here is what Marky thinks of these 2 cuties:

"Please welcome my newest fosters, DMX (aka D) and 50 cent (aka Fiddy). They are sweet, mellow, friendly, and GORGEOUS!!! I’m obsessed with their beautiful exotic looks. Pictures don’t do them justice. These bonded brothers are hanging out with me but can be adopted from Paws Crossed Animal Rescue".

"All our hearts are breaking for Groot. He just howls with sadness since his family left him." This one line from our transport friends at Animal Aid USA, and the first picture you see here, well ... we just knew Groot needed to come to us!

A growth on his eye ...6 years old ... and a family that no longer wanted him. Of course he was sad, but when he arrived at Paws Crossed, he somehow sensed this new PCAR family ... YOU GUYS ... were going to make everything alright! You helped us with funding his surgery ... and as important, you all SHARED Groot and helped to find his incredible, INCREDIBLE forever family who nursed him through his surgery and recovery all the way!!! He is now Teddy and living the happy and healthy life that he so deserves!!!
