Congress Approves Protect Life Act

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved the Protect Life Act (HR 358) which would cancel out the abortion-expanding provisions of the 2010 federal health care law. The measure passed by a bipartisan vote of 251-172. Pennsylvania's own Congressman Joe PItts sponsored this important measure. Unfortunately, President Barack Obama has threatened to veto this life-saving legislation.

Archbishop Charles Chaput, O.F.M. Cap., recently appointed Archbishop of Philadelphia, will speak on the importance of being pro-life and the Roman Catholic Church's position on abortion. The author of two books, he is a prolific writer and speaker and is an active advocate for human life.

Wilkes-Barre--We are pleased to report that Bobby Schindler, Jr.,  will be the principal speaker for the, Wyoming Valley Chapter, Pennsylvanians for Human Life's  twenty-eighth Annual Respect Life Banquet, Monday, October 24th, 2011, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The banquet will be held at Genetti's Best Western Hotel, E. Market Street, downtown Wilkes-Barre.  Since the death of his sister, Terri Schiavo on March 31, 2005, (13 days after her feeding tube was removed by court order) Bobby Schindler left his teaching position. Today,  as spokesman for the Terri Schindler-Schiavo Foundation, Bobby travels to Washington and across the country, appearing in numerous speaking engagements, devoting himself to protecting those with disabilities and raising public awareness about the growing threat of euthanasia.  Please save the date and plan to attend the Banquet. We promise that it will be a most memorable event.  Tickets must be reserved in advance by mailing $25 to PHL,  31 Hanover Street, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702. Please include a phone number and list the names of those to attend individually.
