What Do Appraisers Take Pictures Of?

Any item that affects the value of your home is subject to having its picture taken. The items an appraiser takes pictures of can be things within the house and outside of the house as well as things that are located next to or across the street to your house.
 1. P ictures of the various rooms in a house - what they look like as well as the quality and condition they're in.
2. Any special features in a house - for example, crown moldings, built-in skylights, chair rails, a gourmet kitchen, or custom cabinetry.
3. Attics and crawlspace - Appraisers who perform FHA appraisals are required to perform at a minimum a head and shoulders inspection of both the attic and crawlspace. To prove this was done the appraisal must contain pictures of the attic and crawlspace.

Updates, renovations, or remodeling - If you spent thousands of dollars on updates, renovations or remodeling, you will definitely want the appraiser to take photos of them.

5. External factorsExternal factors include things outside of the confines of the subject property.  Examples of this would be pictures of a school, a commercial building or even a nice park across the street.
