"The difference between the right word and the almost right word is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug."

It takes a lot of guts to be creative, you've got to put yourself out there, what have you got to lose?

"No matter what the task... creativity is what drives innovation."

When corporate media managers convene at the Communications Media Management Association (CMMA) Regional  Meetings, they talk about best practices, technical innovations, internal communications styles, trends, and snafus.

MMG, a multimedia production services partner to CMMA, recently attended the Eastern Regional Meeting @Merck, in Kenilworth, NJ, entitled
"The Courage to Create".

CMMA Members engage in a panel discussing staying relevant. From left: William Jarrett, Dir. of Media, Trinity Wall Street; Dan Mooney, Sr. Mgr., Visual Communications, Kohl's Department Stores; Carol Berman, Exec. Producer, Comcast; Dick Van Deusen, Consultant, Media Strategies

The presentation dealt with ways of delivering messages that are sometimes disruptive, though often inspiring, asking audiences to think differently, while still supporting the initiatives and strategies of their corporate management. (not an easy task..)

CMMA is an association for Media Managers, nationwide, in the corporate, broadcast and federal sector, who seek to meet their leadership challenges through networking with peers from the top Fortune 1000 companies.

Employers Feeling Pain of Obamacare Compliance

Matthew Heller, CFO.com

More than two-thirds of employers favor repeal of the Affordable Care Act's employer mandate, citing the cost and administrative burden of showing they are in compliance, according to a new survey.
The benefits consulting firm Mercer said repeal of the mandate - with 70% in favor - came in second among the changes employers would like to see in the ACA, behind only repeal of the excise tax (85% in favor).
"It's not because they don't want to offer coverage. It's because proving that they offer coverage is so much work," Tracy Watts, Mercer's leader for health reform, said in a news release.
The deadline for reporting to the IRS about coverage in 2015 was extended from January to June, and at this point virtually none of the 644 survey respondents believe they will be liable for the "a" assessment - meaning they offered coverage to substantially all employees working 30 or more hours per week.
