While she's in Florida, Chala Dincoy (above) will lead a free two-hour executive roundtable of select women business owners whose companies produce $1 million or more in annual revenues and already sell to corporations.

She will share her experience on both sides of purchasing negotiations to help participants get to the decision-makers faster. Try a Mind Mapping Session

It's the start of a new year, and you get a fresh, clean slate to visualize whatever you want for your business and your life. Maybe your goal is to expand your company's revenues this year with additional contracts. Maybe you want to establish yourself as a noted expert in your field. Maybe you want to enhance your customer service or increase your headcount.

Whatever you want to achieve, one way to solidify your plan is to create a visual strategy by using mind mapping. This technique is like brainstorming, but instead of simply listing ideas, you put them on a graphic that shows their relationship to other ideas, drawing connections among them.

Mind mapping offers numerous benefits, such as:

Encouraging creative thinking.
Leaving room for all to participate.
Leading to open-ended questions.
Looking at a topic holistically.
Keeping the topic front and center
Combining skills from both sides of the brain.
Showing how items relate to others and the whole.
Creating a visual representation of ideas.

Experts say there's another benefit to mind mapping, too: It helps people retain and retrieve the information in their brains because it is presented in a way that is easier to comprehend and remember.
